Okay, so here's day 2 of blogging. Are you as impressed as me that I'm actually writing another post? We'll see how long this lasts, but I figure while I've got the energy, blog away.
Jojo's new favorite pastime is NOT napping. According to Merriam-Webster, a pastime is "something that amuses and serves to make time pass agreeably". I love the irony of this. Make time pass agreeably? Well, from Jo's perspective I suppose it does. From the parental perspective, however, it's anything but agreeable. That said loss of nap results in a very cranky 3 year old. He really should come with a surgeon general's label: "WARNING: Please read all warning labels carefully before proceeding. Lack of nap will result in increased rudeness, increased disobedience, increased whining, and overall displeasure." All kidding aside though, in spite of this opportunity to grow in my patience and depend more on the grace of God, I am actually starting to enjoy my one-on-one time with Josiah, especially since most days it's difficult to give him my undivided attention. Today, for instance, we got to do some phonics learning crafts--and we both had so much fun!
Abby, abby, abby. Where do we start? She is crawling into & onto everything, standing a lot, walking some, and talking more and more! We are still trying to figure out her personality, but she is keeping us on our toes! I think both of us forgot how "busy" this season is when babies figure out that they can actually get things they want. And don't let her quiet stare fool you. When abby wants something, she'll get it one way or another. Her favorite things are any and all of Josiah's toys--which she seizes every opportunity to grab them when he's not looking. She also loves to pull up Mommy's rug--which Mommy dislikes very much. Computer cords? Another go to item, that she knows she can get to when Daddy looks away for a second. We have been amazed at her unflinching focus, her unswerving perseverance. Distractable? I don't think so. If she sees something she wants (and knows she can't have), she will wait. She will wait. And she will wait patiently until her prey loses focus. And then like a lioness on the prowl, POUNCE!
And now for your viewing pleasure, pictures & videos of our recent happenings.

Josiah & Abigail--Abby's 10 month
Jojo being jojo & Abby sporting her ColeHaan shoes--yes, you read that correctly, abigail has ColeHaan shoes, thanks to a sweet gift from a friend up in NYC.
And finally, one short video (the best we could do) of abigail walking.
I crack up at Jojo's cross-eyes every time!
